This is a gem of a French restaurant tucked away in a dazzling new mall in an upscale neighborhood west of the city. Cairo is on the move and this is a place for the new generation of movers and shakers, like its owner Ahmed Abbas New. Set outside on a glamorous plaza, the patio bistro feels warm, intimate and inviting. Mismatched custom wooden chairs & tables, lush foliage, trellis and candlelight evoke the south of France. The menu is French with an Arabic twist and everything Ed and I tried was mouth watering. Try the eggplant bake for starters... a divine meatless dish with tender aubergine topped with creamy roue. I had seabass with shrimp, my friend had the shrimp pineapple. Outstanding.... all of it. LA VIE EN ROSE!!!!!!!
The food was delicious; we ordered Fillet Mignon and Lemon Grass fillet, both were cooked perfectly the way we asked and the sauces and sides complemented the meat and brought out its flavor even more. The waiter was really helpful and suggested the best sugar free drinks they had when we told him we’re not ordering drinks because we don’t want sugar. The setting is cozy and cheerful. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Egypt. However, if you’re used to big portions, you’ll probably find that their portions are less than the average in Egypt.
